Silverstone is a medium sized village in Northamptonshire, England. It lies about half way between Northampton and Oxford. Population about 2,000.
About half a mile to the south of the village is the world famous Silverstone Circuit, traditionally the home of the British Grand Prix. The racing circuit is on the site of RAF Silverstone. For one week in the year it gets a bit hectic, but for the rest of the time it is a pleasant shire village with a healthy community spirit.
